My Lord Duke,
I have to report that by
the advice of the Executive Council I have suspended from Office Mr Henry Gunthorpe the second Clerk and late
acting Chief Clerk in the Harbour Master's
Office for being guilty while in charge of the Department of neglect
and misconduct which led to a defalcation in the public revenue.
2. All the particulars of this case will be found detailed in a Memorandum
